Global Disabled Veterans of Tigray (GDVT)
About us We are an association of volunteer Tigrayans from around the globe establishing Global Disabled Veterans of Tigray (GDVT). GDVT is a non-profit organization that is legally registered in Hamburg, Germany. It is dedicated to helping and delivering new and surplus medical appliances and supplies to disabled Veterans in Tigray. In 2014, the organization was established in Berlin, Germany. Former Tegadelty Tigray and the Union of Tigrayans in Europe were among the founding members. German residents of Tigrayans made up the original members. This implies that those who founded the organization were based in Germany at the time, which raises the possibility that it was founded in response to a local need. Currently, Tigrayans from all over the world make up most of its members. This indicates that the association
has developed and probably includes more people than the original
founding members. The association's global reach and potential
involvement in projects or activities beyond a particular region are
shown by its members worldwide.
Our
Mission
Regardless of one's physical
capabilities, we at GDVT think everyone deserves the best assistance
and medical treatment. In collaboration with other organizations, we
put the effort to promote and ease the distribution of wheelchairs,
crutches, and orthopedic and physiotherapy equipment, among other
necessary medical appliances, to disabled veterans in Tigray.
By providing these essential
resources, we can help disabled veterans live more autonomous, happy
lives and participate fully in society. In addition to providing
medical supplies, we seek to promote disability rights and guarantee
that people with disabilities are involved in government and
non-governmental service delivery and development initiatives.
Join us in our effort to significantly
improve the quality of life for disabled veterans in Tigray. By
contributing to GDVT, you may assist us in supplying critical medical
supplies and promoting the rights of people with disabilities.
Together, we can build a more accepting society that respects and
helps everyone, irrespective of their ability.
Our
Vision
The GDVT envisions Tigray, where
injured veterans can get medical attention and assistance. They
are required to lead happy, independent lives. In our ideal society,
people with disabilities are integrated and empowered, and disability
concerns are central to governmental and non-governmental service
delivery and development activities.
We seek to build a more inclusive and
fair society by promoting and facilitating the distribution of
necessary medical devices like crutches, wheelchairs, and orthopedic
and physiotherapy equipment. In the future, we see disabled veterans
having full access to the same opportunities and services as other
citizens and actively engaging in their communities.
At GDVT, we're dedicated to fighting
for the rights of people with disabilities and ensuring they're
involved in every facet of society. We see a Tigray in which being
disabled is cherished and valued rather than hindering happiness or
success.
Join us in our mission to create a
more accepting Tigray where everyone can realize their full
potential, no matter their ability. All community members, including
disabled veterans, can have a better future.
Our
Goals
The association's primary goal is to
encourage support for those affected by war, such as victims,
survivors, and injured people. This comprises victims of crime as
well as prisoners of war and civilians. To remember their experiences
and preserve their legacies, the group also works to protect the
memory of people who have been victimized by war, calamity, or
persecution.
The association also focuses on
helping people in need because of their physical, mental, or
emotional state in addition to these goals. This could include people
dealing with health issues, financial difficulties, or other
problems. By giving this kind of help, the affiliation expects to
work on the personal satisfaction for those out of luck while
advancing a feeling of local area and fortitude among its
individuals.
Generally, the reason for the
affiliation is to assist and support people affected by war,
brutality, or different types of misfortune. Through its exercises
and drives, the association plans to significantly affect the
existences of those it serves while advancing a feeling of social
obligation and empathy among its individuals.
Our goal is to provide medical
equipment to disabled people in Tigray. Everyone should have access
to essential medical devices that help improve their quality of life.
We will strive to provide the necessary equipment to those in need,
especially those with disabilities and reduced mobility.
We aim to provide all necessary
medical equipment to all war victims living in Tigray. We recognize
that many people in Tigray have been affected by the war and may not
usually have access to the medical equipment they need to recover.
Our goal is to ensure that all victims of war in the region have
access to the necessary medical equipment to recover from their
injuries.
We make a manageable improvement to
the well-being framework in Tigray. We are aware that the recent
conflict has significantly impacted the health system in Tigray, and
we intend to collaborate with the local communities to make the
system sustainable improvements. By collaborating with healthcare
professionals, we can achieve long-term solutions that will benefit
Tigray's entire population.
A physiotherapy center for all Tigray
war victims is our goal. Many people in Tigray have been injured due
to the conflict, and physiotherapy is essential for their recovery.
By laying out a physiotherapy community, we can guarantee that war
casualties in Tigray approach the necessary restoration and
recuperation administrations.
We'll run campaigns for health
promotion, prevention, and education. Fostering healthy communities
starts with education. By running health education, promotion, and
prevention campaigns, we hope to give Tigrayans the information they
need to make wise health decisions. This strategy can result in
lasting fixes and a healthier population in Tigray.
Our
Projects briefly
The association transported 90 pairs
of crutches and 130 wheelchairs to Tigray in a container in 2017.
This project aimed to provide disabled residents of the region with
much-needed mobility assistance.
Recently, the association transported
orthopedic instruments and medical equipment from Sudan to Tigray in
a large container. This undertaking was intended to give basic
clinical hardware to medical services suppliers in the district,
attempting to focus on people affected by the continuous struggle.
The affiliation is ceaselessly seeking
gifts and help from German medical clinics and Tegaru Diaspora
individuals. The association's projects in Tigray are the focus of
this ongoing effort to acquire additional resources and support.
A wheelchair, included in a recent donation from a member of the Tegaru Diaspora, was sent to Tigray to support disabled people there.
One of the affiliation's most
significant undertakings included sending a holder loaded with
clinical gear and a total muscular guide studio to Tigray. By
providing them with access to essential resources and training, this
project was intended to provide disabled individuals and healthcare
providers in the region with long-term support.
The association's projects generally
assist Tigrayans affected by disability, violence, and war. The
association is working to improve access to medical equipment and
mobility assistance and build capacity within the local healthcare
system through various initiatives and partnerships. The association
aims to promote broader social justice and equity while significantly
impacting the lives of those it serves.
